Alice Haring

Alice Haring was born in Vienna in 1965. She studied graphic and engraving, later working as a graphic director in Vienna. For many years, she has been deeply engaged with classical painting, particularly the techniques of oil painting. After completing various courses at several European art academies, Alice Haring has been working as a freelance artist for many years. She lives and works in Vienna and Mallorca.

Alice Haring’s current body of work explores various mental and perceptual dimensions. Her art is rooted in the idea that the human being is not an isolated island but moves through multiple spheres and worlds that leave impressions and influence our subconscious thinking, feeling, and actions. While the visual shapes perception, interpretation defines how we see both inwardly and outwardly.

In her artistic practice, Alice Haring refers to her paintings as gateways to new realities. Deeply connected to nature, she also engages with diverse streams of thought, which she symbolically incorporates into her works. She moves fluidly between spiritual perspectives from East and West, combining them with a variety of artistic techniques to give form to these differing viewpoints.

Despite this diversity, the figurative element remains her constant foundation. Layer by layer—much like in traditional painting—Alice Haring builds her compositions to open up complex interpretive possibilities and create new spatial and emotional dimensions.
