Guy Ghazanchyan, born in 1991 in Armenia, is a significant figure in contemporary Armenian art, bridging the country’s deep-rooted cultural legacy with a compelling modern artistic vision. His practice reflects a sophisticated understanding of form and concept, shaped by rigorous academic training and international exposure.

 

Ghazanchyan completed his Bachelor’s (2011) and Master’s (2013) degrees in Fine Arts at the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts, further advancing his development through a prestigious residency at the Cité des Arts in Paris (2012).

Working across painting and sculpture, his work offers a nuanced exploration of identity and memory, marked by refined materiality and a subtle yet resonant visual language.

 

His contributions have been widely recognized, earning him multiple accolades, including first prizes at the Republican Exhibitions dedicated to the Feast of St. Sarkis (2019, 2020) and an award from the President of Armenia (2016). Ghazanchyan’s art is regularly featured in prominent solo and group exhibitions internationally, and his works are held in both private and institutional collections around the world.
