Hakob Vardanyan, born in 1989 in Yerevan, Armenia, is a rising Armenian sculptor whose practice engages contemporary art through a dynamic and modern body of work. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, where he completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, Vardanyan is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Art History at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, focusing his research on the subject of modern art.
Vardanyan’s sculptural language is marked by an innovative blending of materials, combining bronze and glass with striking modern sensibilities. Often incorporating elements of visual art, his work reimagines traditional sculptural forms through a contemporary lens, creating pieces that resonate with both material experimentation and conceptual depth.
A member of the Union of Armenian Artists of the World, the Artists’ Union of Armenia, and since 2021 the International Association of Art (IAA), Vardanyan has steadily gained recognition within the international art scene. His contributions to contemporary art were honored in 2021 with a Golden Medal awarded by Armenia’s Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Culture.
Vardanyan’s works have been exhibited internationally, with presentations in Italy, Paris, Lebanon, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, and Switzerland — reflecting a growing global appreciation for his evolving artistic vision.
